The race organised by the Club Mille Miglia “Franco Mazzotti”, in memory of the undisputed leader of the founders of the 1000 Miglia, Franco Mazzotti, set a new record for participation last year. For this reason, the Coppa Franco Mazzotti, after the success of last year, with many foreign participants, will be held again over two days, Saturday and Sunday. The news of this year is that the Coppa Franco Mazzotti ranking will be closed with the arrival at the Military Airport of Ghedi on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, in honor of the health workers who fought against the Corona Virus, will be challenged the Trofeo Croce Rossa Italiana (Italian Red Cross Trophy), with a route that will lead from Sirmione to San Martino and Solferino, where the Croce Rossa has been conceived in 1859. Participants will have the possibility of choosing whether taking part in the Saturday’s race only or both. In addition, for those who desire it, there is a holiday package to stay in Sirmione.
Taking account of the popularity illustrated by the participants, the twelfth edition will also be held among Brescia, Franciacorta and Lake Garda.
This year the Franco Mazzotti Cup will, again, be one of the qualifying races for the AIDO Historical Cars Challenge.
The technical and sporting checks will be held on Friday evening and Saturday morning in Sirmione known as the “Pearl of Garda”.
Still at Sirmione, the start of the race will take place on Saturday 10 October. The race will pass through Franciacorta, with transitions in the native homes of Franco Mazzotti, at Chiari. To commemorate the aeronautical enterprises of Franco Mazzotti, fallen in the war at the helm of his plane, the end of the race will take place at Ghedi Military Air Base The final trials will take place on the tracks, while dinner will be served in the Tornado hangars of the 6th Flock of the Italian Air Force, the "Red Devils".
There will be 4 Time Controls (CO/TC), 76 Time Trials (PC/TT) e 4 Average Trials (PM/AT).
